Fabia Bluetooth not working with Android 12 update

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the right "room" to post but I have a Fabia mk II vrs (2014) and bluetooth always worked / paired fine with my phone.   Then I had a system update (to android 12) around new year, and every time the bluetooth tries to link it forces a system crash on my phone.  Pain in the butt!  Has anyone else had this issue?  Really not ideal, but it seems its really difficult to go backwards on a system update with Android, so wondering if there is anything I can do with the car bluetooth system??  So annoyed with this!  Have tried multiple times, and got help from more phone techy people and it just crashes until I turn my bluetooth function off on my phone so its not trying to pair with the car.  Help please?

I'd firstly unpair everything, then find the specific system app inside your phone handling the bluetooth function, force close it and clear data, then pair everything again.

If it still crashes, there's not much more to do. Android 12 is a buggy mess at this moment and further updates make it even worse.

Oh, at the very least submit a bug report to google (or samsung if it is one) and make sure you get a confirmation

Edit: traditionally, wiping the phone clean after every major update seemed to get rid of all the issues. It's a bit extreme, but, it may help as well. Back up everything before, then hit reset

I too have had 12 woes with a Pixel 4XL & 6. Both phones needed re-pairing in both cars. Ironically the older phone has the latest software at this moment in time. There didn't seem to be any problems with the 12 betas either.

Hi both!  Thanks for your input.  I finally worked out that it was a problem with the phone, and have had to factory reset TWICE to get it to work - but it does now.

Funnily enough, a Pixel 5 - so something dodgy happened in the update!

BUT I just wanted to leave this here in case anyone else has a similar issue.   Thanks again!
