Front passenger door handle

Featured Replies

Hi

As above how do I remove the end of the door handle on the passenger side as I need to unclip the cable to the lock mechanism. Thanks.

pretty sure it just pops off if you get something flat under the top or bottom edges.

edit....

sorry i thought i was in the mk1 section, 🤣🤦‍♂️

i usually check there then the mk2.. mustve mis-tapped.

anyway, i cant imagine it being much different on the mk2...

That's ok thank you for your reply I thought I had been sent to Coventry, I have practically begged for help on here and been ignored I need to get to the door lock mechanism on the passenger side front it's been playing up for a while and when the door would not unlock I was panicking but I got I got it open. Twice I asked for help on this forum  there are people that  have done the job and MUST know I have spent hours on the internet trying to find out how to do it. If I do get it done I will not use this forum again!.

well lets try and solve it....

wgen it isnt unlocking, does it sound like the mechanism is getting power and just not operating properly, or is it just dead?

the most likely failure point if its not getting power is the where the loom passes through the A pillar into the door

More likely the drivers door bellows as it usually gets much more use, the commands to all the passenger doors pass through those cables from the drivers door controller.

Sorted I would like to thank everyone for there help, but don't ask me how I did it, NOT with the help from anyone from here that have done the job already, it is humility begging for help and being ignored even from micmac not a sarcastic remark but never mind it's done now. THANK YOU .

@adokS12

How did I get into this?

You like myself were foolish enough to offer advice to help the OP who now refuses to pass on his solution to others who may need help.

A mistake on my part that I wont be repeating with them.

In France we say "Trop bon - Trop con!"

I think Adick meant to say "humiliation"  he appears to not know the meaning of "humility" 🤣

@J.R.

I never commented in this post other than to query why my name was mentioned.

Perhaps the OP will explain.

Looks like myself as well as the OP mixed our Macs!

or perhaps he meant that @MicMac is generally very good at helping out in the mk2 section but didnt on this occassion. because he was itherwise busy? and may have missed the original post.. it happens on a forum.

i would like to point out it took 2 weeks to come back and moan about noone helping, after a couple of important questions to aid digital diagnostics were asked and a suggestion made on where to start looking.

anyway, c'est la vie as @J.R. might say these frenchy days.. helped offered, and either ignored or whatever, meh, it wont keep me awake tonight (many other things might though...)

@mac11irl

If I knew the answer to the OP's question I would have contributed, in any case this is all free advice, if the OP wanted me to chime in they should have asked or PM'd.

Thanks for alluding to my helpfulness, volunteer work gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling inside... or maybe that's IBS!

Y'all take care now y'hear.

Hate to say it but with posts like that I doubt very much you'll get any more help on here should you need it!

I've been here a long time and frequent multiple times every day but didn't see your post either!  we're not psychic so if we don't see a post then apologies for not helping but no need to get stroppy!

meh, i dont think the posts needed to be removed, i wasnt taking any offence by it, but...

i thought everyone knew if you posted at the weekend you have a much lower chance of a response than mid week - we are all either doing family stuff or working on our own cars then.

so, (i had a look) if you ask a question on a saturday, then ask again on Sunday. follow that by posting in a different thread on Monday get a response and reply on Tuesday i dont see that as begging for help... esp when it then takes 2 weeks to come back and finish moaning about getting no help..

edit..

i didnt realise there was clearly other posts today i didnt see...

You may not have been offended but the posts were definitely offensive. 👍
