Octavia 2 2.0 FSI 110kw oil pressure light

Featured Replies

Hello!

My octavias red oil pressure light randomly comes on, then goes randomly off and repeats. Anyone had this kind of problem and what seems to be the issue? I add a picture of the warning light.

Also oil level is max and changed 3000km ago and no oil leaks.

Hello!

This is a relatively common problem with higher mileage on this engine.

Inside your engine there is an oil pick-up tube which sucks the engine oil from the sump up to the top parts of the engine.
The tube also has a little gauze filter on the bottom of it.

After a long time the tube/filter can get clogged up with sludge which causes the low oil pressure.  It’s super common on this engine.

You need to get this fixed sooner rather than later. If the light only comes on occasionally, then probably your engine is still fine. I have seen people ignore the issue and eventually their engine is not worth repairing.

Hey!

Thanks for answering. Luckily it was a half broken oil pressure sensor wire, fixed that and now working like a charm 😁😁😁
