Eibachs harsh?

Featured Replies

Hi recently swapped my 2007 Mk2 Vrs tfsi for a 2016 Mk3 Vrs230 and its definitely a improvement in every way other then im finding the ride quite crashy/harsh on anything other then smooth tarmac especially compared to the mk2.

Now the car has been fitted with eibach pro springs so what do other people think to the ride with these on? I think im going to put some standard springs on and try it standard but not sure if its down to the suspension or the standard 19" wheels?

Obviously the ride is going to be a bit stiffer compared to a non vrs but for a family hatchback id expect it to ride better then it does its like it cant cope with lots of bumps/uneven road surface

Any thoughts?

225/45R17 tyres will make the ride a lot better than 225/35R19 tyres, especially if you choose tyres with soft, flexible sidewalls such as summer touring tyres or all-season tyres, and avoiding UHP summer tyres which have stiff sidewalls.

As the VRS230 has 340mm diameter front brake discs, you can't fit 16" wheels as the rims would foul the brake calipers.

205/50R17 fitted to 6.5Jx17 ET38 from the Kodiaq would give an even better ride than 225/45R17.

Generally the Eibach Pro kit is deemed by most a better ride than the standard springs.

Will be selling a set of 18s with efficient grips soon. Tyres have done less than 1k miles if interested.

Hmm i don't really want loose the 19s if im honest, yeah i have read that people say the Eibach have a better ride which is a bit worrying but surely they are stiffer then the standard ones?

guess ill have to throw some standard ones on it and see what its like then
