Skoda Connect app & web 🤦

Featured Replies

ok ok not a major issue! But when when it's been paid for I want it to work. Both Skoda Connect web and app not updating for a week now.

Removed the app (android) and reloaded, also the web after a cache clearing then a fresh log in.

Sadly (even after assessing and reviewing the car pre ordering, plus this is my fourth - others were fab) this generation is beset by annoying sometimes dangerous and distracting software issues. Shame really as nice car. Some error messages from Skoda Connect web and app so yep sent off to Skoda.

The app is indeed a bit of a disaster, wouldn't pay for it myself. 🤣

Here in Australia the MySkoda app exists and we do not have to pay for it but it does basically nothing.

1. It can tell you where your nearest Service Partner is.

2. It has a trip planner which just seems to interface to Google Maps.

3. It can tell you your VIN

4. It can take you to the web page for the online version of the manual.

If data in the app are not updating, then the issue is most likely in the car and with it's connection to the Skoda servers. Try removing fuses 19 and 30 for 10 minutes. This can help reset the connection.

For me the app actually works quite good.
I can:
- see all my driving data
- check the location of the car
- check the status of lights, doors and windows
- open/lock the car remotely
- honk remotely
- see the service history
- generate a certificate with all the vehicle data and history
- etc.

@6nations just a thought. Are you registered as the Main User? (IIRC this involves the dealer verification).

also services need to be activated through the infotainment system.

I don't know if i'm paying for it after the 1st year trial, i'd just like to have more controls on the remote air con. All i can do is turn it on, there's no temperature control or anything, really basic and useless, specially because sometimes it doesn't even work.

I can just confirm I had trouble as well since the car was new (1year). I have been in contact with skoda support so many times and they seems aware of it's lack of function. I have visit the workshop 3 times for different software updates and replace the ocu. Still don't wok properly.

Will definitely don't pay for an extra year.

I’ve had my annoying vrs a year now and my Skoda Connect has expired. However the app lets you try it for free or renew for another year. So I have 1 month free. Wonder if this carries on or you can only try it for free once?

Didn't see the free trial before. Thanks for that, just done it

I actually find Skoda Connect quite useful, as long as it works. With the app I'm able to check the status of the car (battery charge and gasoline level, locked/unlocked, etc), remotely lock it, set it to charge (or programme it to charge at a night), control the heating/airconditioning (or programme it to start heating at a specifik time every morning), etc., etc.
The problem is of course, when it stops working - as it typically does with 2-3 months interval.
It seems to have something to do with the cars internet-connection getting f*cked up. The "solution" is to remove fuse 19 for a few minutes. However, this is not only cumbersome, it also means that I'm loosing all the driving data for the period since I last saved them.
Skoda definitely needs to work on this.
