The FABIA MONTE CARLO has traditionally appealed mainly to sport and active lifestyle enthusiasts. Again in the latest version, black elements and details, including the radiator grille, the exterior mirror caps, the spoiler edge in the redesigned front bumper, the decorative trims on the side sills and the rear diffuser, give the car striking looks. The car comes with exclusive 16-inch Proxima alloy wheels, or optional 17-inch Procyon alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts in black and 18-inch Libra wheels.

Details such as the MONTE CARLO plaque and badge on the steering wheel, tinted rear and side windows and the option of ordering a black painted roof complete the overall impression. All of these aspects accent the fourth-generation FABIA’s dynamic lines.
he dynamic concept is also reflected in the interior, which is dominated by black paint with red details and a leather-wrapped multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel and handbrake lever. The decorative trim of the interior parts has been given a carbon finish and the sports seats with integrated head restraints are a dominant feature. It is here that we also find elements in red, the horizontal bar on the dashboard and other parts of the interior is also red, and the ambient LED backlighting is the same colour. The sporty look is further enhanced by the stainless steel pedal covers.

The new FABIA MONTE CARLO boasts cutting-edge technology. One available option, for example, is a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit whose layout is tailor-made for this design version.

The car’s convenient and practical features can include a heated windscreen, heated steering wheel, infotainment with a screen size ranging from 6.5 to 9.2 inches and, thanks to the integrated eSIM, you can always be online. This also lets the owner access ŠKODA Connectand mobile online services. The FABIA MONTE CARLO can also be equipped with the voice assistant Laura, which understands fifteen languages. There are options for mobile phone mirroring or wireless charging, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO has up to five USB-C ports.

Safety equipment can include up to nine airbags, which, together with the car’s sophisticated construction and array of safety systems and assistants, earned the latest generation FABIA a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests. Top of the assistance systems is one called Travel Assist, which enables assisted driving by combining adaptive cruise control, ultrasonic sensors and cameras, and a lane-keeping system. The parking assistant is also impressive. ISOFIX anchors can be found at the rear on the outer two seats and at the front on the passenger seat.

A car’s headlights are another important safety feature, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO comes with LED technology as standard, with Full LED headlights available as an option. Fog lights are also available and the rear lights with Full LED technology are another available option.

The new powertrains also contribute to the reduced fuel consumption, and the available range essentially replicates that of the standard ŠKODA FABIA. The basic version is the three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.0 MPI EVO that delivers 59 kW of power and 93 Nm of torque and is coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox. The five-speed manual transmission is also available on cars equipped with the 1.0 TSI EVO engine, which generates 70 kW and 175 Nm of torque. The more powerful version of the three-cylinder TSI EVO (81 kW, 200 Nm) offers a choice of transmissions: a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG.   The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI EVO, with 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque, is topped by a seven-speed DSG transmission as standard. In this version, the FABIA MONTE CARLO reaches a top speed of up to 225 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds.

It's rather nice looking. :)

Yeah, it’s quite a nice looking car.  Shame there isn’t a wee bit more power. Dropping the 2.0TSI 190 in it would have been nice. Keep the Monte Carlo name so it doesn’t fully step on the Polo GTI’s toes. Anyway, it’s not happening.

2.0 TSI in an estate version would have been nice, as would two weeks in Spain. But I don't think we'll get what we want. :D

German configurator has the Monte, just trying to navigate round it when you don't know the language !

It looks ahit. Unless you arec17 years old lol

Taste is subjective. I, for one, think it looks okay.

So if you want the 1.5tsi DSG and most of the packs you can end up with a £30k+ Fabia.

Doesn’t make any sense as you can get virtually the same equipment (and same engine) on a Seat Arona FR sport (with the one option pack) for nearer £26k (see link for specs) and Seat offer £500 off for test drive and £1500 off for PCP so can get it for under £24k

Added link to Arona specs

The only thing I would have considered was a Monte Carlo 1.5 Estate which would have been unique to Skoda.

IMO it's a stupid decision  for Skoda to drop the estate.

A hatchback with option packs is just not worth it.    May as well get the Polo Gti for around 26k on Carwow.

So what do people think about the 1.5/DSG ?

I am ready to pull the trigger and order, but will be buying blind as I can't test.  Think the dealer suggested out another model with the same engine/DSG for a feel.  It was a grumpy salesman though, so will wait for my more happy chappy to come back in this week !

Looking at a car, trying to imagine it with sport seats, flat bottom steering wheel, and 18" wheels against orange colour model in the sun yesterday, with stock seats and playing with the stereo, which is not a patch on the Hyundai i120n for sound unfortunately.

Time in my life, I need to think about auto but only driven powerful DSG cars before.

Thankyou for any comments to help me on my way.  Delivery quoted 14 weeks.

14 weeks might well need revised as Skoda productions are affected by a war in the Ukraine.

If you want a mid sized family car hot hatch best buy a mid sized family car hot hatch and not a Fabia Monte Carlo. IMO.

150 ps & a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG will get a Fabia up the road quick enough for many considering UK NSL's.

It will be more show than go and be a Warm Hatch more than a Hot Hatch though.

You will get anyplace in about the same time as you might have done in a bigger 245-280/300 ps car.

Forget all the Monte Carlo Rally guff as this mk4 Fabia has nothing to do with Motorsport Heritage or Success's.

It is using a term for a trim and nothing else,

the only thing to do with S2000 or R5 Fabia is an attempt of the Skoda &  the Media / Sales team to have people think about 'Motorsport'.

If they do a stripped out version with better suspension and brakes then they can maybe offer it as a R5 limited tribute.

Even stick badges on the wings that are to do with the years they are successful in WRC2 where they are AWD cars.

2017.

Really a joke using the Monte Carlo name.

Is 14 weeks a quote, an wild estimate, or unrealistic sales patter.

This German website shows current estimates for VW Group, and it is showing minimum 6 months for new Fabia, with some specs extra 2 months (8 months total).  Also for UK need to add about 3 weeks for a ship from Essen so more like 7-9 months depending on spec.

https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html

If your salesman has one in 14 weeks, must have ordered a selection of colours for stock few weeks ago.  I would get them to show you their pending stock list to confirm, otherwise it might be nearer October-December

I like the look of the new Monte Carlo however nearly 25k for a 1.5 with only one extra option (winter package) is too high for me. I'd rather pay a small amount more for the Polo GTi.

25k for a small car appeals to me about as much as a broken nose. The new Dacia Sandero, albeit less "sporty" looks more like a good brand new choice, IMO.

One dealer quoted 10 weeks, and mine is 14 weeks.  I know all about the car situation after following the i20n forum closely and how it changed so much.  If I wanted non dealer order stock that is 1 yr delivery.  I will be honest, I would have lost interest totally in any car at that point !

I want the look of Monte Carlo but without hot hatch which is what I have now (HH), just not driven an DSG small engine before :)

I will challenge them to see if its on order already, but I doubt it as I have specced it alot.

@MinigillIf you have have only driven bigger engine cars with wet clutch DSG  you really should try a test drive in a TSI with 150 ps & 250 Nm or under with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG and especially a 1.5 TSI, even if one from any of the sister brands.

With the rubbish summer tyres that get fitted as OEM it will spin the wheels if given some at junctions.
