Electric seat memory

Featured Replies

All of a sudden it's stopped working. Last week, it was fine, this week there's no response. Pressing the programmed buttons don't set the seat to the programmed setting and if I press and hold the set button there's no "bong". Is there a means to try resetting it before I take it for diagnosis and repair? Thanks in advance.

Yes there is, if you can move the seat using the controll buttons then move the seat in every direction till the end, end press again for a second or two, meaning move all the way up till it stops, release then repeat the up command for a second or two.. Do the same for down, back, front, back rest all the way forward, back, lumbal support in all directions! That should clear the error, once done, turn the car off, lock, let it go to sleep, meaning leave it locked for 5 mins.. Unlock, set the seat the way you like, memorise it, and try it, should work!

This usually happens when the seat losses basic settings, meaning it does not know where it is and what the end positions are, its like when the auto widnows stop working with one touch up or down..

I get that a lot since i have the comfort exit and entry, and it leaves my seat 3-5 cms to high, so i lower it all the way down manually, does that 2 or 3 times a week for me!

Thank you bubib5. I'll give it a try over the weekend

I had to have it reset by Skoda technicians. None of the manual reset procedures, some of which are outlined above, worked.

Skoda had to go into the coding and reset something. In my case the problem was traced to being due to the charge of the batteries in the key fobs being low. Somehow the Kessy system had become confused and didn't know which key was being used. It set a flag in the system that prevented the seat memory and the mirror memory from working.

Three new key fob batteries (one in each fob) and a bunch of technicians with a laptop got it fixed. Fortunately my car was still in warranty back then but I had to pay for the batteries. I replace all batteries every year now whether they need it or not. The end result was a working memory system but the click box option to disable the virtual pedal for the boot disappeared from the console. I'm not too bothered about the latter!

Maybe the back and forth seat movement will work for you.

I had the same issue after I had some work done on the car that involved moving the seat. Like @TerryMcK, I tried the manual reset but it didn't work. A mate had checked it and found a number of faults. Once cleared all was good again.

Thanks for all the input. I've tried the suggestion from bubib5. Sadly it didn't work so when I have a moment, I'll be off the the dealer.

All fixed now, faults cleared and "software updated". My pocket is now £276 lighter - 😪
