Sorry, not familiar with Norway spec

Does your car have the 20 inch Vega or 19 inch wheels

20 inch is an approved size, with 235/45 R20 100V tyres on 8J ET41 or 7.5J ET43 rims

Can also fit 255/40 R20 101V on 8.5J 20 ET38 rims

9.5J wheels are not approved, but I do not know if extra width will cause problems with them hitting bodywork, especially as Sportline has plastic trims around wheel arches

They look like 7Jx19 ET43 rims

It's best to use an 8.5J rim with a 255/40R20 tyre size on an SUV. This is the narrowest rim you can officially use with that tyre size, and will therefore give the best protection form kerbing damage as the sidewalls will bulge out more compared to fitting this tyre size to a wider rim.

Fitting a tyre to a narrower rim also gives more comfort as the tyre's sidewalls will flex more easily.

Wow.  You're on your own with after market 20" wheels.

Al I can think of is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Let us know where you end up.

I'm on 20" rims and I'm thinking of going down to 19" or even 18" for a better choice of tyres.  ...and a more compliant ride of course, though that's a secondary consideration.

I don't find the ride at all firm in 'normal' on the DCC - it is in 'sport' though, but still nothing compared to my old 1 series with M-Sport suspension (so perhaps my frame of reference is different to yours!).

If you do get smaller wheels, let us know what - I'd been considering a second set of wheels with some winter tyres, but by the time I started to look into that this year it didn't seem worth it. Maybe by next winter...

That's where I'm at, and will most likely depend on how long the Conti tyres last.  This might end up being a long time the way things are looking...

Wow, interesting choice of rims. Where I live, the low-profile tyres (and the rims) would suffer serious damage in a matter of months because of the huge number of huge potholes that never, ever get fixed. Unfortunately, that's pretty common in the UK, especially (why, FFS?) in the so-called 'prosperous' south and south-east. I've gone completely the other way: 17-inch rims with 65-section tyres, so I get a lovely compliant ride, less tyre noise (especially using all-season tyres), less probability of kerbing the rims, and much greater protection against our scarred road surface.

Slight digression - my experience with standard 19” Summer tyres and 17” Winter tyres.

The OEM 19s turned out to be much more comfortable than I expected. Not too low profile and feel ok most of the time.
I’m on my 2nd Bear so have enjoyed 5 years on them so far.

But, I use 17” winter wheels and the difference is huge. No danger from pot hole or kerb damage. Noticeable Roly-Poly compared with the 19s so no boy racer cornering.

But, the DCC lets me play nice tunes on each and every journey as I deal with multiple speed humps, poorly maintained roads, city roads, motorways and nice sweeping A and B roads.

I often use Sport suspension with the 17” high profile tyres at times when I wouldn’t use it with the 19s.

I think I will want DCC on any future car.

Swapping wheels means I’ve never bought any new tyres for many years so cannot comment on alternative rubber.

Hi Can anyone tell me, I'm thinking of changing from 20 inch on my sportline down to 18inch are there any issues with just putting on a set of 18inch OEM wheels will it affect anything

No. I have 2 sets of 18" winter wheels(studded and non studded), no issues whatsoever.

"Trinity" and "Braga", both 7,0Jx18" ET43.

No problems, there are 4 sizes for Kodiaq.

The 17s might not clear big brakes of the biggest engine version, but 18s will be ok, tyre sizes are on attached

On the Kodiaq, there are three different front brake sizes.

16" rims will clear the front brake calipers on all front brake disc sizes, except the biggest 340x30mm front brake discs which need at least 17" rims.

Kodiaq front brake sizes

312x25mm (16" rims will clear the front brake calipers)

314x30mm (16" rims will clear the front brake calipers)

340x30mm (17" rims will clear the front brake calipers)

Note that 16" wheels aren't approved by Skoda for fitment to the Kodiaq. However, with almost 6" of sidewall the 215/70R16 tyre size could prove useful for going off-road/muddy tracks, etc.
