Variable Service Information

Featured Replies

I have a 66 plate 2.0 Diesel L&K Skoda Superb estate. It is coming up for its first service with me owning it. It has already had its cambelt & water pump replaced in April 2021. It has come up saying oil service in 200 miles.

What I want to know is what is the service schedule for other service items. Such as Air filter, Pollen filter, Fuel filter, Gearbox fluid.

I have searched for hours on Google and have found conflicting advice on different sites.

I have only found in the manual that brake fluid is replaced every 2 years.

I would rather over service it than under service it. As it will be a car I'm keeping for a while as I love it.

Any help much appreciated

?

Can you find a good VW Independent that knows what needs doing when & will do the work and not just do a tick list and look see and charge lots of money for not much done?

Brakes being serviced is a good idea. Actually wheels taken off the car post winter.

Tyres / wheels  rotated or changed front to rear might be a good idea.

The brake fluid is first at 3 years then each 2 years, but you can have the brake fluid tested for H20 content.

You can look at the Air Filter and see if it needs replacing or change as suggested / recommended.

Same with the Pollen Filter which is at 2 years but then that might depend on location location location. (Centre of city bus routes, or seaside, or middle of a farm etc etc)

Fuel filter maybe by Manufacturers Recommendations like other things or more often.

The DSG is at 40,000 miles not @ 4 years.  The Haldex is @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner.

This gives an idea of what Skoda UK has as a guide, even though a Skoda Service Plan might well mean that FMDSH / Main Dealer Servicing has not things done as shown.

That requires the owner knowing what is due when and paying for it.

Excellent thanks for this info

@Broadld As the standard chart is based on doing 10,000 miles each year, it is very useful to keep a paper record of what is done each service, as you won’t remember 2 or 3 years later.   Especially if you have higher or lower mileage as what is due each time then won’t match the chart.

As service records are electronic (and driver cannot really access it), I always recommend getting a print out of work, when you are paying the bill after service done
