£500 in dealership spend up from their initial offer of £200 and more importantly full Skoda Warranty extended from 3 to 5 years. I couldn't put this up here until I had it all in writing but they can do it when pushed.  The Warranty is extended 30 days prior to the 3 year warranty ending. 

Was worth the few phone calls and emails for me

Congratulations on your persistence and getting a result that you are reasonably happy with. 

 

We all know, that it's not really the ideal conclusion as you shouldn't have had to go through this in the first place, but it's a lot better than a kick in the groin.
