Ignition signal and rpm signal ecu

Featured Replies

I can’t find anything else on this but I was going to install a rev limiter on my fabia but I’m not not sure which wire from the ecu is the ignition signal and the rpm signal

It already has a rev limiter, all modern cars do.

The RPM signal will be part of the CanBus signal from the ECU to the speedo so not a simple single wire like on the older cars but as said there will be a rev limiter built into the OEM ECU but it might not be at the RPM you want, so you'd have to get the ECU re-mapped to the required RPM

EVERY modern car has a rev limiter as part of the engine management system, they have done since the 1980's with the advent of mapped electronic ignition and injection systems, the spark is cut in the case of petrol engines and fuel is cut in diesels.

You may not have found yours yet because it's so far past peak power.

Edit: Peak power is at 5300 rpm after which it falls off a cliff because the turbo loses boost, rev limiter is probably at about 6500 rpm on a small 4 cylinder engine like that.
