Expensive heated windscreen

Featured Replies

Just ordered my Karoq SE L and it seems the only way to get a heated front screen is to pay for the ‘ Winter package plus ) £350 which includes heated steering wheel and two heated rear seats, I’m wondering how the rear seats can be removed if they are wired up for heating ?

I believe, as per previous Karoq and Yet, there is a socket in the floor and when the seat is tipped forward it un- plugs.

Strange just having a winter pack plus , and not just a winter pack option with just heated front seats as per Kodiaq.

I've just looked into this and I'm not sure you can get a heated screen for only £350. It appears that the Winter Package does not include the heated windscreen but does have heated front seats, heated windsreen washers and headlight washers. The brochure says that you must have the optional heated steering wheel at £115 for manual and £200 for DSG. The brochure states that the heated steering wheel is only available with the Winter Package and Winter Package +.

The winter package + which is heated front and rear seats, heated windscreen washer nozzles and headlight washers, at £420. There is no mention of the heated steering wheel in the Winter Package +, and does not appear to include the heated steering wheel.. Also, note that a heated screen doesn't seem to be available at all with the 1.0 TSi engine. So if you are looking for an SE-L with heated screen, it appears that the cost on top of basic is £535 for a manual and £620 for DSG.

Routemaster, yes it’s very confusing hence I’ve raised the subject on hear, I think the SE L comes with heated washers, heated steering wheel & headlight washers so the £350 is a discounted price so all I’m getting is a heated screen that I want and two heated rear seats that I don’t want ! 😕

I've just reread the brochure page in the light of this. The heated steering wheel is listed as an option for the SE Drive (both manual and DSG) but not available for SE-L or Sportline.

The Winter Pack does not seem to include the heated steering wheel, but is only available with the heated wheel, which, as above isn't available on an SE-L.

The same seems to apply to the Winter Package +, steering wheel not included, only available with heated wheel, which isn't available. WTF !!!!!!

I'm glad the situation with my Karoq Edition seemed to be simpler. I live in the south and frost isn't am issue, so I don't need the heated screen. The heated wheel, which the agent recommended, isn't necessary, I can cope pefectly well without it. I have heated seats; the leather seats can be quite cold but not so much that I have used the heater apart from ensuring it works. My wife and daughter both enjoy the heated passenger seat though.

That’s because the SEL comes with heated steering wheel anyway, I think 🤔

yes my wife and daughter are big fans of the heated passenger seat in my Yeti 😎

No black dot in the column. So varioflex seats are standard, but heated wheel appears to be unavailable.

Here is the section for the Winter Packages.

Still appears that you need to specify a heated wheel if you want a winter pack. It could get complicated (as if it weren't already) as the prices would be different for manual and DSG. It also seems to indicate you cannot just order a heated wheel without a Winter Package on an SE-L but you can on an SE-Drive.

The black dot means that it is standard fit surely ?

SE L comes with heated front seats and heated steering wheel.

Yes the SE L comes with heated front seats and steering wheel. I ordered the heated windscreen and ended up with the heated rear seats that I did not want. More manufacturers are going down the "packages" route!

It’s nice not to be the only one 😜

I've just caught up with this. It appears that I have been misreading the brochure. Most of the ones I have seen actually have a list of standard features and options. So when the heated wheel did not appear on the options list, it didn't occur to me that they are standard. I am surprised though as for my Edition it was an option, and I thought that heated seats were optional on the then current SE-L. Many apologies to all.

On this subject, does anyone know if the heated windscreen is a climate windscreen (as fitted to Seat Atecas) or does it have filaments?  i've ordered the Winter Package Plus for my new Sportline, and I'm hoping it's the climate windscreen.  The Passat I had before my current Karoq had the filament windscreen, which I did get used to, but the filaments are visible if you focus too much.

I agree with all of the above!! I ordered expecting it to be the filament screen again, but hoping for the climate. My assumption is that Skoda would "boast" about it, if it was a climate windscreen 😬

Ok, so I asked on Skoda chat and the answer was "This is a climacoat windscreen".

When pressed about the windscreen having wires/filament, I was invited to send an email to customer services for a "technical explanation".

So...its looking optimistic!? 🤔

Excellent if true!  I'd be very happy with that.  Thanks for the update.

I've just sent an email myself.  If you send one too, it would be interesting to compare replies.  Hopefully, they'll be the same and will give the answer we want.

Excellent. Yes I sent an email also.

I've received a reply saying "I have raised your query with my Brand Support Team and I hope to get an answer soon. I will chase them in a couple of days but it may take longer to get a definitive answer."

So, no real news yet.

Ditto. Word for word.

I've just received a reply, and it's good news!  They said, "I raised this with my Brand Support Team and they have confirmed that while the pre-facelift ŠKODA KAROQ did use wiring for the heated windscreen, the new facelift version uses ClimaCoat foil technology."

Hello

I have a 2022 Skoda Karoq

I've already made a lot of improvements but...

At the moment I want to implement a heated windshield.

Maybe some of you have already done this and know what connectors and pins are needed?

I had a Skoda Karoq 2022 with heated windshield. It was foiled without any stripes. Windshield colour (tint) from outside looked like copper.

Now I have a Skoda Karoq 2023 FL with heated windshield. It is also foiled without any stripes. Colour is neutral.

The heating power of the old windshield was better = little faster.

yes..I already have film heating.
I found the entire wiring kit with a relay for connection.
made to order by a person.
It remains to buy an additional climate control unit
