Great on the motorway…

I agree, there are times (most of the time) it can't, for obvious reasons, look ahead so its applying the brakes much more than a driver would when looking ahead two or more cars. I often turn it to 'standby' to stop it braking unnecessarily when all it needs is lift off the throttle earlier. I guess brakes are going to need replacing much earlier because of ACC; at night I saw (rear brake lights coming on) just how much it uses the brakes when I had previously thought it was just 'lifting off'. Not a fault, it just cant look ahead of whats in front of it.

With my car I assume it activates regen before braking (iV model) so brakes probably not affected as much as a standard model. It still puts the brake lights on when in regen as it can slow the car down a reasonable amount as on light braking.

That's a big win, makes sense, perhaps its designed for IV cars!! Although I doubt Skoda even considered it!!

Out of interest what brakes does it apply, front or rear? Reason I'm asking is because I had a Mk2 Clubman which ran through rear pads much quicker than the front as the ACC only applied the rear brakes for most adjustments or controlling speed coming down hills.

Brake lights should come on for anything that slows a vehicle down other than taking your foot off the throttle to engine braking. I.e Braking, regen mode or a retarder in an HGV.

Not sure, but interestingly I had the same as you on my Land Rover Discovery Sport, rear brakes replaced ridiculously early, the dealer claimed it was normal and due to the cars stability control, Cruise control and other software stuff that basically used the rear brakes to permanently control the car.... They will need to fit larger brakes on the rear not smaller soon!
