New Roomster owner

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I was looking for an inexpensive car to have in Portugal so I could stop hiring each time I come and came across a 2006 Roomster 1.2 Comfort and I was quite taken with its quirky looks, drivability and well built feel. I like to work on my own cars when I can and as I have bought the car from a  “dealer” without much information or feedback on what’s been done recently I wanted to ask the forum what I should be checking, if this model has a rubber timing belt ? Any other issues I should be looking at before I start to use the car regularly?

Any advice is very much appreciated.

The main problem that crops up is broken wires between door and body in the rubber gaiters.

But there are kits to repair this.
