Looking at 2017 2.0 tsi 4x4 high mileage ex private hire

Featured Replies

Is an SE L executive model. Has nearly 150k miles on it. Looks like it's been impeccably maintained as MOT history shows zero fails/advisories,  though actual hard evidence of main dealer skoda service history only present for first 80k miles.

Any specific issues to look out for?

Thanks.

Is that 3 Variable Oil & Filter services or more in that 80,000 mile Service history?

Does the Main Dealer Service history show the Haldex as serviced at 30,000 & 60,000 miles?

Then there should be that done twice since then if not 3 times.

Best budget for what you might need to do soon if no record of Servicing since like invoices.

So spark plugs, air and pollen filter, AC service maybe, the haldex if no record of being done.

Is the windscreen in good nick without chips.

Are the tyres matching pairs or 4 tyres matching.

How do the discs look?

Also look out for coolant leak on the bottom tray as the Thermostat housing and waterpump are prone to leak and especially if its a high miler.

As above plus DSG oil changes . Check the air vent controls actually move the vanes inside, especially in the rear middle housing. Easily kicked and made of chocolate. Fixable - if you have all the bits, but easier for someone else to sort it.

Check the tyre wear on the inside of the rears for any evidence of rear tracking / camber out of whack.  When I bought mine at 25k miles the inside of the rear tyres were down to the canvas while the outside were showing loads of tread left. It's not easy to see the inside of the rear tyres so worth a look. I had to get the rear camber / tracking done on a 4 wheel alignment rig to correct the problem.

Obvious advice is to check that the timing belt (if it has one lik the TDi) has been changed as at 150,00 miles you're well into the danger zone.
