New Superb iV K&K Road Trip MPG

Featured Replies

Is that a petrol or diesel engine? I did a trip from Portugal to Paris in my 2.0 TDI estate, always respecting speed limits (2 adults + 2 children + full trunk + A/C on), and remember, for example, Bordeaux- Paris doing 65 mpg UK, which is awesome. I can sometimes get as much as 78 mpg UK  if only  driving outside the city on 50-90 km/h roads. This aspect of the car is a big plus. I have some quibbles with other aspects, but OK in general.

This is the Superb iV PHEV, so the 1.4tsi petrol.  As most of my trips are nearly all electric it makes sense for me, do two or three big road trips a year, but the economy the rest of the time is excellent as we charge mostly on solar, timing charges between two cars (the other a VW ID3) when we're generating enough solar to cover it.  Our previous 4x4 2l TDI Superb did about 44mpg on the same trip, so very comparable.

(The massive roofbox does the most damage to mpg)
