Sportline

I'm considering a TFSi 190 Superb Sportline. Can anyone advise whether the Sportline has stiffer suspension. Also what the ride comfort is like in general? Also< I have this engine in my Audi A4 Avant,  what realistic fuel consumption could I expect in the Superb? Thanks in advance

TFSI is the older variant of engine, the newer ones use TSI engines so just checking what year superb youre looking at?

Sportline is a styling pack more than a sports pack, the suspension is the same among all Superb's except for if you get DCC it allows control over this.

Personally i have no issues with my comfort at all and its a very nice ride.

Fuel consumption varies greatly depending on what engine, what fuel, 4x4 or 2wd, distance journeys. Personally i get about 45mpg in a 220bhp 2wd doing lots of motorway driving

45-50 mpg on a long motorway run, more if I stick to 70.

Ride is very comfortable.

a lot depends on what your used to,  when i drive my sportline superb after driving my caddy van, it feels noticeably firmer, in fact i would say sometimes it feels uncomfortable.

if i did'nt have the van it would probably feel ok, but because the caddy has 15" wheels and lots of suspension travel, driving anything else is always gonna feel less comfortable.

i might at some point change the superbs wheels to 17",  which i would imagine would make a difference.

Thanks for that. I always get the nomenclature mixed up. I have an Audi A4 with the TFSi engine and that is the latest generation, and I assumed it is the same engine

Audi was adding an 'F' to TSI over a decade now when there has been no difference.  1.2, 1.4,1.8, & 2.0 litre. Much like when they have a DSG called a s-tronic.

There was a time when TSI & TFSI engines were different.

Not stiffer suspension, just lower ride height and lower profile tyres.

Recently hired a VW transporter panel van. The difference in ride is crazy huge. Van feels incredibly smooth in comparison but with lots of roll and pitch of course.

Recently changed tyres (same size , OEM 19inch)  and that made a difference too, taking away the sharp edges.

Thanks for the replies, everyone

Depending on the market, Skoda offers (well they used to back in 2017.....) up to 3 suspension grades:-

1. Standard suspension (std shocks, std springs)

2. Sports suspension (std shocks, 10mm lower springs)

3. Adaptive suspension (DCC shocks, 10mm lower springs)

With Sportline models (if equipped with DCC), we've been able to confirm that it's the same DCC shocks, based on part numbers.  Not sure if the DCC software parameters differs for Sportline variants.

Haven't been able to confirm if springs physically differ.

Almost 50MPG on a long run and 792 miles from the tank,
