price increase

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.  bit of wreid one but here it goes.  I got a Quote for a stock rs octavia a few weeks ago  and with having  Covid and all waiting till I was better before ill go to dealers as they were over two hours away from me in Ireland . Basically I when in and and was  willing too pay what I was Quoted just over two weeks ago before hand. all sudden the price increased €1100 euro from my original Quote! i was very annoyed and am not willing to pay the difference.  I'm just wondering has this happened to anyone else?

Some other VAG marques increased their prices at the start of April - maybe it included Skoda too?

@ck6120  Is it a brand new unregistered car with just delivery km on it,

or one they have registered and sitting as a showroom car yet to become a demonstrator?

You would have thought the quote would be valid for 30 days?

It a brand new unregistered Car . I was very disappointed with the sales person aswell  I was talking to them Thursday and no mention off a price increase or a change of price  on the deal . there sales manager wasn't there either so they couldn't do anything for me . as you would expect a Quote to be valid for at least  30 days . if the car was sold in the meantime I would have totally of understood.

@ck6120

So was it a stock car actually with them after the 1st April or one in stock as in transit to them?

Are they not selling like hot cakes and the one offered already gone?

Maybe someone at the dealership or a family member fancies it for themselves if a specced up car.

Its part of their  stock .  In the  dealership since March from what iv seen and know  . its a basic spec car no extras. I wouldn't think anyone in the dealership has any interest in it . I've give them till  Tuesday afternoon to sort it or they can keep it been honest not to many people willing to pay nearly 50k for a Octavia 😄

Skoda prices went up on 1st April. I had the same problem. My build also increased by about the same amount, taking it over £40k

Edit - just read your post properly! The does seem a bit naughty for a car already built!

@ck6120 Very strange from them.

I would have thought they would have wanted it away before the end of this month.

wreid to say the least I got the original quote in April too . I told the sales person today either do the deal at the price agreed or forget it they have until Tuesday morning to come back to me .

@roottootI would have taught so too especially with it been a month or two before the 222 reg cars . iv a funny feeling there going to agree to the original price . well thats what I'm hoping
