Whistle from drivers door

Featured Replies

Hello,

Wonder if someone else had the similar issue and has found a solution. So my drivers door are making high pitched whistle when fan is on. No whistle when fan off or recirculation on. Also whistle disappears if I put finger in left down corner of drivers side window.

Also when I close door from outside the door "rattles" like air is coming between door and seal.

Any ideas? Maybe thick dust in the rear bumper vents or something else?

It's misaligned seals/doors. 👍

I had this issue and it drove me nuts, didn't matter what setting it was on and went away when fan off.  Thought it was seals too.

Ended up taking it in for help and dealer used pressure sensor and found it was actually caused by faulty trim in the boot.  Padding/deadening had fallen away covering vent (presumably intended as pressure exit) and it just manifested as irritating sound of air escaping next to my flipping ear.

Trim replacement under warranty sorted it for me if yours is similar.

Okay so I managed to fix this. Issue was in drivers door window seal/guide wich goes inside the door. Pulled it out, cleaned and gave some rubber care to it. Then just pushed it back and now whistling is gone. Maybe it wasn't 100% in place wich gaused whistle, who knows.

@Honkkis

Are you able to so pictures of the exact seal you had to deal with? Having similar problems with whistling from the door and might want to check if I need a similar remedy.

@MuskUp

Do you know where the vent is in the boot? I am considering looking at that as well.
