Id just got my new Nikon d70. Couldnt sleep(Dont know weather is was excitment or insomnia). So I started playing about with it.

I was looking for something to take a pic of, I stumbled across a torch. :rubchin:

So I was playing about with light painting, and decided to try some still life with torch light.

Thats about it really.

Printed one out on A3 paper, framed it, looks really good.

Very nice.

Did you eat the apple?

:) Not sure about the 3 a.m. bit though - I mean if you do your best work at night, you'll pretty much have to give up your day job. ;)

I notice you framed it - it's strange that first pics on a new camera are often remarkable. Perhaps we (I) get blase after that and just take "point and shoot" pics? :o

Do you have a particular interest in photography, or more to record upcoming happy moments?

Mo

Very good. Nice grain & light contrast.

When you're insomnia kicks in tonight, do a similar shot of your Skoda. Might need a bigger torch ;)

Ive been into photography for a few years now, but only just joined the digital revolution.

My main interests are portrait and motorsports. But every now and then I get a bit arty with still life.

I have a few ideas in mind for my skoda, but ive been waiting for an orange sunset, so could take a while.

I can't help but feel that the apple either has just, or is about to, perform a little party piece and is awaiting the applause. Or is it just me? :o

Loving your work btw ;)

I've learned so much from the excellent pics my dad took during his travels around the world, all on 35mm slides - Oh if only digital. He did much photography and developing as a hobby.

Back at the ranch today, there's still a lot to be said for "film noir" B&W images. Let's face it, anyone can shop an orange sunset ;)

Speed to your heels my friend.

Best

Well, between the two of you (skodadan and Taztastic), I reckon you could put some incredible surrealistic shots together...

Thinking out loud now...

Regards

Mo

I will see what I can achieve with my new car when it arrives in a few weeks:rofl:

 Will your new car take photos as well? This new car technology is blinking amazing. I'm so far behind, I don't think I'll ever catch up.

Mind you, I just got us some new reycling bins, so I guess I'm in today's world at a more, erm, ground level

Thanks for the comments. Its nice to talk to like minded photography folk.

When I show my other half all I get is " Yea, its allright".

Mo, when I get my new Octy, I certainly hope it is always stationery when involved with cameras!!!

Looking to try some IR photography soon, very surreal, watch this space.

Oooh! :) It is nice being able to experiment without costing a fortune in films etc.

You'll have something else in common with skodadan - i.e. being up all night

Look forward to seeing them.

Mo
