Air filter gubbins

Featured Replies

I removed my air filter to check it today and underneath the filter is loads of plastic Louvre looking vents.

It had some leaves stuck inside so thought I’d remove them but they’ve dropped down.

Is there a way to remove that plastic for cleaning purposes? I didn’t want to break anything

You could be in trouble there now that debris has fallen into the blower. Not sure how you would set about extracting it.

The proper technique when removing the air filter is to place a piece of cardboard underneath the filter before sliding it out so that any debris doesn't fall into the blower.  VAG use a specific tool for this but a sheet of cardboard is fine.

Aren’t you thinking of the pollen filter?

I knew about the cardboard trick for changing my pollen filter yesterday though :D
