@thomasaspin thanks

You can get quite cheap replacement ones on say, Ebay and/or Aliexpress but be sure to get green ones, not VW red, as it will not match the car;s other switches. Genuine ones will cost four times as much and won't necessarily last four times as long. When I replaced mine, I swapped them out for the later ones, with the little chrome strip on them. They just pull out from either the front or the rear (Cant remember but be gentle and you will find out). you can then unclip the wiring and re-clip in a new switch. Be careful not to let the wiring loom fall back inside the hole or you could be fiddling like Nero!

I can't seem to get the AVG MPG above 35 MPG

But I do seem to get over 50 smiles per gallon

If you keep resetting the Average miles  per gallon, it will start to re-calculate from scratch. The longer left, the more real the figure should be. That said, re set it before a long-sh gentle drive along a clear duel carriageway and see if it goes up then.

@Crucian

Maybe you could give some idea of what engine your car has,

so a petrol or diesel and which actual power / size of one.  1.2 TSI / MPI or a TDI.

Engine is 1.4 TSI

You are getting the sort of fuel consumption that many have with twinchargers then.

On a good run at NSL's you might get into the 50's mpg.

Still a lot better than the average 14 mpg from the RR V8

Round trip 0f 440 miles returned an av. of 44 MPG (amazing coincidence), very happy with this as the driving conditions were absolutely terrible (Rain) and in total probably 1.5 hrs very slow moving traffic
