What Specs?

Featured Replies

How do I find out the specs of my car. I'm picking it up on Monday. When I first saw the advert it stated it had Amundsen system, but when I enter VRN in Skoda,eu it comes up with Columbus. With Fords you used to be able to access Ford ETIS and get a print out of the specs on leaving factory. Anything like that for Skoda?

There is, it’s called ErWin.

Not used it myself but there’s a section where you can see the service history, build information and whilst you’re there download all the workshop manuals.

It’s not free though but when you pick the car up you’ll easily be able to tell if it’s Columbus or not

Thanks for that. Where would I find this ErWin. Since I posted I have spoken to the dealer and he has a copy of specs, which he says he will give me when I pick up the car. He had a quick look but it did not state any name, just said infotainment system High

Yup, that's typically a Columbus. Mid would be the Amundsen :)

The spec sheet wont tell you Columbus or such, will most likely go by MIB1/2/2.5/3 depending on what year superb youre looking at will decide whats possible. You have to pay £8 for a 1 hour session on erwin and this will supply all you need if youre quick.

If you have a full glass screen with touch screen buttons on it, that will be Columbus.

Well that's a pleasant surprise. I don't know much about Skoda, just assumed the advert wouild be correct. I'v mainly had Fords but a couple of years ago, I went for a Jaguar XF. Had no real problems with it but its now on 81k , due a major service and belt change in October. Also got frightened by all the horror stories I read about on the Jag forums. Thanks all.

Once you have got the VIN for your car you can set up Skoda Connect.

On a computer you can go into the Skoda Connect portal and download a Digital Certificate for your car which will give you details of all accessories.

An example is attached, though it does not seem to include some extras, for example mine has a factory fitted towbar which is not mentioned.

The Certificate also shows every bit of maintenance that has been carried out on the car by Skoda dealers so it is useful when you come to sell.

Just been on and it won't accept my VIN TMBBD7NP9H7561862. It looks like there should be another character, there are seventeen in my VIN but the site appears to be looking for 18. I used that VIN to set up an account on ERwin, so it must be ok.

17 is the correct number. It might not accept the VIN until the dealer has registered the car.

It;s a 2018 second hand, I would have thought it would already been registered. I collect it on Monday so will check then and pick their brains.

Ah, I thought it was a new car. A 2018 model may not be able to use Skoda Connect.

Also the standard for an SE-L then was for it to have Columbus not Amundsen.

It is not the same as the current Columbus though.
