Plastic inlet to metal type query ??

Morning peeps,,

due to my on going P2015 issue I’ve been looking at a new one rather than the flaps replacement, but I’ve noticed on eBay that the the metal type inlet is cheaper than the plastic type??

is the plastic type an upgrade to the metal type ?? and would the metal type still fit my car instead of the plastic one ?? Would there be any side effects to changing to this type. I’m just asking a seller about a plastic type on fleabay that will hopefully fit,, but just curious to see if would be a direct replacement
