So I purchased a mirror from skoda parts, had it deliever etc but today I had an invoice from FedEx who want to charge me an additional £62 for import and other taxes.

Anyone else had this, thought the price would have included stuff like this? Or am I being stupid and missed something?

Nope, still. Suffering thanks!

Just thought would have been held or something until charges paid, not after, makes it seem like a scam, just wanted the collective mind so to speak...

Is the £48 the import duties? That'd be my guess.

What was the cost of the mirror?

286 euros... But just looked and FedEx are charging for the 12.75 disbursement fee, and 49.82 as original Vat, that right?

I just went through the to the order page with the same item and when I put in my address it came up with 'As your country is outside of EU, we will not charge you VAT. You will be charged VAT and customs fees according to your local rules on delivery.' highlighted in the red too.

It looks like skoda parts didn't charge me vat on the order, but allowed FedEx to do it as its coming into the country, just an additional 12 for doing it on my behalf so to speak.

So it could be argued that there is a brexit benefit for FedEx's bottom line!
