Rear Centre Twin Seat belt buckle

Featured Replies

Doe sanyone know if these are easily replaceable. I cannot seem to find on any skoda parts website. One of the 2 rear centre buckles is not working i.e the clip does not catch.  I will ask my local dealer but would like to know my options as expecting a high quote to replace and install. The car is still in warranty but not sure if these would be classed as wear and tear items. Anyone experienced similar issues - Ocatvia mk4 saloon 2020?

I do not see why it should be a wear and tear item. My headrest on the back seat has broken after 13 months and Skoda have agreed to replace it under warranty.

I'd also agree that it should be a warranty item.

A safety related item, unless there is evidence that it has been abused it should be replaced without question.

Did VAG not once have a recall for rear centre belt buckles on some vehicles? I recall them recommending that a passenger should not be carried in the centre position and thinking many families would be insisting on loan vehicles.

It also might be worth checking that no debris has found it's way into the slot, this could be enough to prevent it latching. Try using a vacuum cleaner attachment to see if there is anything stuck.

Yes, I think a tester in Finland did a swerve test with passengers and the passenger moving sideways caused the buckle to press into other button and release it.   They had to redesign and change it on Ibiza, Arona, Polo and maybe others.

My Arona was done free, as it was deemed a safety recall. So all seatbelt buckle faults will be done under warranty unless deliberately abused.
