Haldex and DSG fluid/oil???

Featured Replies

Are they the same thing? ie. can the DSG oil be used in the Hadex unit? G.

No they are not the same oil used for the DSG & the Haldex oil change.

The Haldex Oil change is at 3 years / 30,000 miles.

Ok. Thanks for that roottoot.

There is an oil filter in the Haldex unit, that should also be cleaned at the oil change.

Hi, where would I be able to find out the gearbox type info on a car I'm considering buying please?

Dealers seem to parrot out "it's had a full service" but unable to confirm whether DSG service or Haldex service specifically been done! 😞

Yeti, I'm looking to buy a Yeti 2016 or 2017 SE-L Outdoor 2l diesel 4x4

It will be a DQ250.

Up to the Dealership to confirm the DSG & the Haldex has actually has been serviced as per manufacturers recommendation / schedule or guidelines.

If they have no proof then easy enough for them to do it.

They need to show it as done and not just 'its had a full service'.   They should know who and where done and if it was them then fine.

The skoda dealers in th UK don't even recognise that the Haldex unit has a filter that needs cleaning, the latest unit has a small filter on the end of the pump remove the pump and wash the filter

They're not a main dealer, but more of a 400 car warehouse (not cargiant!).

An "oil for all wheel drive coupling" has been done. Is that the Haldex one, or something else?

There is also a "Gearbox oil" item under Additional Work in one of the services. Is that equal to the DSG service?

They claim to have serviced it in March this year, and according to the image that you posted, the cambelt/ water pump service is due (car is 2017, and at 44k miles).

I bet they won't have done it, and probably won't, coz Skoda Yetis are becoming rare to find.

Buy and get the Warranty but do not pay for their offer of an extended warranty and then budget in the £350 to have the DSG service done and the Haldex for peace of mind.

Not MotorPoint sellimg it is it?

No, not them.

350 for those two and then approx 500 for Cambelt. Hmmm .... All adding up!

That is the gamble with used cars.

Not even a Full Service Record is a guarantee of all work done as it should be.

Buying from an enthusiast with all the invoices and receipts is nice but rare now.

A wanted ad in a forum like BRISKODA might find you such a car, or sometimes people tell on the forum where their traded in car is now for sale.

EDIT, @shillingI made a post in the Yeti section asking if anyone that has moved on their Yeti could say who is selling it if a good one.

Cheers buddy, I was out and about earlier, so didn't get round to digging around for the best place to put my "Please sell me a nice Yeti!!" 🙂

I was charged 59.16 EUR for "Haldex oil", if that helps.

This has prob been asked may times, maybe even by myself, but is there any easy way to tell which gearbox a particular Karoq has?  Mine’s a 2.0 TDi 4x4 and I think it’s a DQ381 from previous discussions but is there any way to actually check?  My car will be 3 years old in Dec so will get the Haldex oil changed then, even though it will have only done ~16k miles by then.

I'd be keen to know this as well, from what I understand some of the early kodiaqs had the DQ500, but I've been unable to find anything on here that explains the same info for a Karoq beyond the DQ381.

Putting my 190 TSI details into TVS's tuning helper comes out at the DQ381 map options, so I'd hazard a guess that's the one, but honestly unsure beyond that.
