Space saver wheel

Featured Replies

Morning all. Found my self a space saver wheel. Tyre size T12570r16

wheel size 31/2J16

et25.5 h2

tyre size on car is 205/45r16

does any one know if thr space saver wheel will fit the car at all ?

?

Is it the correct stud pattern for a Mk2 Fabia?

The size of the tyre is ok for circumference, but do you really want a Skinny Space Saver.

The wheel you take off needs to go in the spare tyre well anyway.

Would you not be better buying a wheel alloy or steel with a 205/45r 16 tyre?

Or the Skoda standard spare which is 5x100  PCD and has a 195/55 R 15 tyre.   Maybe from Briskoda for sales or Ebay.

Probably, but you do realise that a space saver should not be used for more that 50 miles, or for trips at or above 50mph?

If you have 256mm diameter front discs, then 14" tyres will fit such as 185/60R14 and 185/65R14.

6Jx14 ET37 and 5Jx14 ET35 rims could be used for these tyre sizes. However, only 185/60R14 fitted to a 6Jx14 ET37 rim is a standard Fabia MK2 fitment.

The Roomster lists 185/65R14 fitted to a 6Jx14 ET37 rim.

However, to closely match the outside diameter of the 205/45R16 tyre size, the higher sidewalled 185/65R14 tyre size is closer in outside diameter to 205/45R16 than 185/60R14.

Fabia MK2's with less than 105HP will usually have 256mm front discs, whereas models with at least 105HP will tend to have the bigger 288mm diameter front discs.

14" wheels won't fit over the front brake calipers on 288mm discs, so at least 15" wheels are needed for the 288mm front disc size.

Get a used wheel of a scraped Fabia or Polo, i got a old studless winter tyre from the wreckers and just cleaned it up in the shower. Was 30 quid, wheel and tyre and all.

I'll sell you one (or all four) steel wheel(s) from a Mk1 Fabia, they'll fit your Mk2 AFAIK.

The Fabia MK1 uses 6Jx14 ET43 rims for its 185/60R14 tyre size, whereas the Fabia MK2 uses 6Jx14 ET37 rims for its 185/60R14 tyre size.

Therefore, if you use these MK1 rims on a MK2, you will have 6mm too much offset and the tyres will sink into the wheelarch by 6mm each side, ie. you will lose 12mm of front and rear track.
