Featured Replies

just started in last few weeks with message " KEY NOT FOUND "    ALTHOUGH I HAVE THE KEY IN MY HAND SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT ???...CAN ONLY START BY USING KEY TO LOCK/UNLOCK  UNTIL KEY RECOGNIZED ????WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS !!

This is not best forum location for support. For hello and goodbye messages.

Careful on using all CAPS in writing, classes as shouting.  Odds are you left cap's on writing the fault seen.

Try to locate your car model from the list and make a re-post if the mods don't move this.

Make sure to post as much information as possible on your car to assist.

As a suggestion have you checked that the battery in the key is good?

sorry - should have mentioned...key battery is OK, also 2010 model superb estate diesel..

@john999boy Not sure if you can, or another mod is able to move this to Skoda II

Brian did PM me and was a little lost in where to post.

I did PM him a link to Superb II

@brianmullinYou checked voltage and it was reading ok.

Does the issue happen in one location, or all the time now?

Do you have access to any diagnostic tools to check if any fault codes have been flagged?

We do have members around the UK, and other places that have the tools if not.

Topic moved. 👍

I’d still try another battery as there’s loads of threads regarding this!

If you're stuck you can always use the key to press the "start" button (instead of using your finger).  That brings the key close enough to the button for the backup RFID reader to acknowledge the key.  This bypasses the radio key check and will allow you to start the vehicle.

thanks @wokwon i didnt know about that little trick..

my missus literally just walked into the house and asked me why her Seat Arona would be saying "KEY NOT DETECTED".

i know she got a genuine battery replacement done only last week on one of the fobs after shed been getting the low battery warning.

possibly shes picked up the other one and its losing power now too.

will check it out later on.

A few tips for you:

  1. Read the user manual! It's there for a reason, and clearly describes what to do in case the mentioned fault message appears.
  2. Stop shouting. We are not the cause of your problem, and not very eager to help people shouting at us.
  3. Use Google before starting another thread similar to older threads describing the exact same problem, and the solution.
