1.5TSI Boost pressure sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've recently bought racechip's tuning box and I'm having great trouble at accessing the Boost pressure sensor, as its buried deep within the engine behind the throttle position sensor, and my sausage fingers are struggling to get to it. any advice as how I can easily get to the sensor without taking too much of the engine apart, TIA

Did you ever manage to replace it? I've got a P0471 code on the same engine and suspect this sensor.

Try a long pick to pull up the security tab and then press the plug while pulling it. That code is exhaust pressure sensor not boost pressure sensor.

Two long flathead screwdrivers and a lot of patience did manage to at least unplug it and allow me to replug, cannot comment on a full replacement, I would imagine it would require some parts to be removed!

Thanks for your help.  Originally suspected an exhaust pressure sensor due to the code.

I cannot find any information on this 2019 1.5 tsi  having an exhaust pressure sensor nor locate it myself.

I therfore tried a new map sensor which didnt sort the issue.  I was then thinking the turbo boost sensor as this is the only other presssure sensor on the engine/ exhaust i have found. This is what has me stumped.

Thanks.

What's the exact code? Could be a leak somewhere that flags the code.

Could be the scanner your using, have you tried a different one to see what it comes back with? I've got similar engine, mines the dpca, is yours dada?

Hi, My Autel maxicom generates this code and so does my Bluetooth obd dongle using the torque diagnostic app on my phone.

Both say P0471 exhaust pressure sensor.

Might have to book the car in with a dealer as i've ran out of ideas what to look into next.

I'm not familiar with the gpf tbh, maybe it has a nox sensor that's flagging the fault.

Did you ever manage to get the racechip fitted?

I have a TDI Tuning box and can't get into the second boost sensor.

Hi, did you find out that was causing the P0471 exhaust pressure sensor on the 1.5tsi?

Yes, the exhaust pressure sensor was replaced as circled in the pic. Has been ok for over a year now.

Hi,

Sorry I don't have the part number.

Independent specialist fitted it and didn't include it on the receipt.
