Want to change front discs and pads. Looking on euro car parts there are 2 thicknesses of discs - 19mm & 22mm - thicker more expensive - will my calipers/ pads fit either? any tips? thank you. Prob going for the eicher as the cheapest.

Rear shock  absorbers - found Drexel G Force on ebay - £39.95 for 2 - that sound ok? or is there a better option for that price? Any particular tips? Watched a couple of yt vids. Should I  buy the rubber bushes for the top at £10 for 2? - Critical?

Thank you folks

A 2008 Roomster 1.9TDI has 288x25mm front brake discs according to Jurid on autodoc. It's a TRW brake system. Later Roomsters from around 2011 used an ATE brake system when they were fitted with 288x25mm front brake discs.

Do you have front brake pads with or without a wear indicator? Both types are available.

You can check that you have 288mm front brake discs by measuring them. The only other Roomster size was 256mm, so it's easy to spot the difference.

Thank you very much for all this information. The link to the exploded parts looks great. Thank you.

I bought a set of pads for my 2008 TDI and was supplied with the type in the link above (providing the photo is correct) and they were incorrect. It is best to check if the pads fitted to the car have the spring slips on the back.

I am not sure if I would trust a £20 shock but that is up to you. If the shocks have never been touched, I would be tempted with new hardware and bushes, there is nothing worse than finding in the middle of the job that something is too far gone to reuse.
