After much prodding and packing  thoughts were leaky injector seal,once stripped it turned out to be failed intake manifold gasket on my 2011 vrs 1.4 .so not so expensive to sort. On the other had I've 1 dsg clutch low so clutch kit needed and prob flywheel cars done 76.000 been quoted £1899 to replace and set up .is that average or too much I know clutch pack kit is 545 ish does it always need duel mass aswell .cars running perfect gears perfect just a tad whiny at low speeds with window open lol 

Is this an Auto gearbox specialist giving this price and them doing the job or a general garage?

Have they had the car in and out for a drive?

Local independent skoda audi specialist. Theve not road tested it .just asked for qoute as had 2nd clutch plate low code come up

Come to think of it I didn't know DSG had a duel mass flywheel ,only knew it had two clutch plates

If you're getting the gearbox removed then it makes sense to replace everything that wears, so that's both clutch packs and the flywheel which is an awful lot of money on parts alone. How much is the labour?

Most specialists will replace the dual mass flywheel while doing the clutch packs as the gearbox is adapted to each car and using an old dual mass flywheel can create issues as they shim the clutch packs to a tolerance , having seen a few  of these dq200’s fixed a good method is to remove the inspection port for the gear selector folks and clean them off (they get covered in metal filings and that stops them selecting gears , some people will charge to replace clutch packs when this is all that is needed in reality

Interesting, I'd just noticed increase of whine sort of noise.then when I had the intake air leak code come up I also had 2nd clutch below tolerance show up.dsg working perfectly as it should at moment .quote I've ha shows 450 labour .595 clutch pack .75 adaptive drive.463 duel mass flywheel.plus Vodafone and tonic
