Hey, found this topic for Octavia Mk III, and I'm wondering if anyone has this problems on their Mk IV Octavia. My vRS sound generator rattles  when the engine reaches 2000 RPM. Its quite annoying...

I've just started hearing a crackle/rattle when the stoopid fake noise is on. It appears to go when I turn it off.

 

Does the fake noise come from a dedicated speaker or does it use the infotainment speakers?

 

I’ve had the same off and on for ages.  I always turn the fake exhaust sound off.

The noise comes from sound generator and not the infotainment speakers. It's a seperate box under the windshield wipers... At least that's what the mk3 forum says.. 

I had same issue when picked up my car. Dealer fixed it but I disabled it so now it's not acting.
