Suspension noise 2018 Octavia

Featured Replies

Folks,  my 2018 Octavia gives a creaking suspension noise from front and rear.

1. The creaking noise in the rear suspension is when getting into the vehicle.

2. The creaking noise from the front suspension is when going over speed breakers / bumps.

The Octavia dealer hasn't been able to resolve the issue fr the past several years, spraying WD40 Silicon spray hasn't helped.

I'm now considering taking it to a 3rd party suspension specialist to resolve this once for all.

Any suggestions of some good suspension specialists where I can take my car to get this resolved? I live in the North London area.

My 2018 Octavia has creaked at the front from near enough new. The noise is significantly worse now at coming up to 5 years old. It makes the noise on extension, not compression so speed bumps and travelling over high to low points in the road cause it. Pot holes aren't an issue, possibly due to the higher speed of compression / extension.

I'm also all ears to suggestions!

Mine creaks at the front over lowish speed undulations but not potholes when the car is cold, not so much when warm. Its been doing it for a long time. The rear suspension was worse and was greased up at a service and has been fine now for a good couple of years.

Seems to a common characteristic of mk3 Octavias.

Fixed that for you.

I read that top mounts are quite common to cause this sort of thing. Mine creaks at low speeds, most noticeable when going lock to lock.

i plan on placing the suspension at some point to see if it fixes the issue.

Mine has several creaks, turning at low speeds and going over bumps. 5 garages, including the dealer, have failed to identify a fault so I have to live with it. Unfortunately it’s a taxi and 10 hours a day of all the various noises from this car is beginning to affect my mental health. My two previous Octavias did the same.

Nope. I like my job but each shift is becoming a test of mental strength. Never again will I buy a Skoda as a taxi. The days of the 400k 1.9 PD are long gone. Next taxi will be a Toyota or something French and comfortable

and quiet.

Folks I managed to resolve the issue. I guess I was spraying the WD40 silicon spray on the wrong bush earlier. Did it this weekend on a different spot and now I do not get a single sound from the suspension. Darn I have no idea why I didn’t do this before!!
I’ll try and click a picture of the exact bush if I can with my phone to post here.

I just sprayed all of them! Lol.

Been quite a few months and still ok.

Fyi folks, I initially used the WD40 Silicon spray on the bush marked 2 but it didn't stop the squeaking. When I sprayed on the Bush marked 1 on both sides the noise disappeared. It's couple of days now and I drove a lot over the weekend too and there's been absolutely no noise or sound again. Hopefully this lasts a couple of months.
