Boot won't open with switch or key

I have a 2017 superb estate, which is great but the boot can currently only be opened by creating in the boot and undoing the latch manually. 

 

No sound heard on pressing the switch or key button. Checked boot lid fuse (#50) and seems ok. Is there a separate fuse for the locking switch? The boot lid switch that is only accessible when the boot is open works fine.

 

How can I tell if this is a motor issue or the switch? Does the key bypass the switch or simply link to it? 

 

Any help much appreciated.
