Intake manifold compatibility 2.0tdi

Featured Replies

Have tracked down a coolant leak to the charge cooler (camera through IAT sensor and wet inside).

I’m trying to track down a compatible part, new genuine is around £800 so looking for second hand or eBay.

Anyone know how to confirm compatible part numbers? Latest revision according to the dealer is 04L 129 766 Q

There are lots of other revisions out there so not sure what fits. A few AJ revisions on eBay, but can’t track down whether they will fit.

thanks

  • Could also be AH. I just can't see dots where dots should be to make that last letter read as an M?

  • @varooom may be kind enough to confirm/deny whether those other numbers from the skodaparts page are all supersedences of one another.

Searching for that suffix Q part on Skoda Parts.com gives the following part numbers listed along the top the page Škoda part number:

04L 129 766 BA

04L 129 766 AM

04L 129 766 B

04L 129 766 H

04L 129 766 N

04L 129 766 Q

04L 129 766 S

Intake Manifold Škoda 04L129766BA (skoda-parts.com)

I think that indicates that all are interchangeable.

What's the part number of the one currently on the car?

Thank you!

Yes, thank you @varooom.

I was able to confirm using OEMwolf.com that B>N, N>Q, H>Q,  and strangely unalphabetically S>Q (where '>' is intended to mean was replaced by).

But that site isn't up to date enough to cope beyond Q.

Any way to check cross compatibility across Vw group? Can seem to find these from golf’s or Leon’s but struggling for an Octavia one

If the part number is the same, it's the same irrespective of brand.

Ahh not ideal then. Can find a few that don’t match the codes on skodaparts. Different modification letter so not worth the chance.
Thanks

Was trying to source newish but looking like that might have to do.

Anyone aware of a weakness in the earlier versions that was rectified? Or was it just one of those things to go. Done about 120k miles

You'd definitely not want that one if it is really an -AN, that could be quite different.

Stick to one of these 3x values to be absolutely sure of a compatible fit

The link that @Breezy_Pete linked to earlier (removed extra crap) should be good enough to replace what you have.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155133613768

Ideally find a BA version, but probably hasn't hit the eBay market yet for being too new

Thankfully AN is not a legit part, so contact the above seller to confirm that it is AM not AN

Best of luck!

True, worth getting them to wipe the grime off it.

Yep it was a typo, was actually AH.

Any idea where the aj part comes from? Can’t find much info on it but the below eBay description seems to say it’s compatible. Waiting on a response from the seller.

The weld on that looks very suspect, looks like its had a new core welded in the middle of it.

dark side were very helpful when I was in touch, but they couldn’t be certain that the one they stocked would fit. Seems to be a couple of different versions around which are all slightly different.

Have ordered a second hand part so will try and pressure test it when it arrives and fingers crossed it’ll last another few miles!

I sent them a query on the part number

Quick responses as ever and the correct part for (in my own case) a CKFC 2.0 cr tdi  is 04L 129 711 AB

only from VW @ £795 +vat..... :bandit:

So by the looks of it the AB version has an opening on the right hand side that on the Q version isn’t the whole through the casting. Don’t know what the difference is on the engine itself
