Gear lever bellcrank worn

Featured Replies

I have hopefully attached a video of the offending part, I was wondering if this can be bought online or would I have to go to a skoda dealer?? Thank you for your help.

So plenty of views but no advice.

i have since pulled the gearbox end of the selector and both cable ends aren’t great. I can get the right hand (looking in the engine bay) one but only from Germany, the left hand cable end is out of stock.

however I cannot find anything for the remote gear change inside the car. I have tried Fleabay and Google, don’t really want to go to Dealer as would probably cost a fortune.

I would appreciate any advice regarding what parts are available and possible sources.

thank you.EEEC02E7-599E-49ED-8A64-84E089B54382.thumb.jpeg.70dce85e771dee6731f0d4efa56690d6.jpegEEEC02E7-599E-49ED-8A64-84E089B54382.thumb.jpeg.70dce85e771dee6731f0d4efa56690d6.jpeg87BCB435-2E96-4BF6-AB59-62C40CA3F272.thumb.jpeg.3ceabbd3675d8cf5cac26d18ff9a21c7.jpeg

Inevitably, a part like that or those 2 will be genuine only supply likely. So your two options are second hand, dismantling market (may also be worn) or new via Skoda / Vag network.  A quick google indicated one of the parts is no longer available but may be superseded.

Would need the full car detail, year, engine code to look at parts diagram and get a better idea. Or call your local skoda dealer parts department, they will tell you a price to order and you either take it or leave it.... No harm done.

If you want to browse some parts diagrams from a source which will let your order LLLParts is not bad. Ordered a few things off them and can be a bit cheaper than dealer. Have to wait a little while for the order, so if it is not urgent.... And I find occasionally they don't offer order for parts that are complete i.e. their listings not entirely complete.... but pretty good source..

Thanks for the info, I did go to my local Skoda Dealer parts dept, the guy frowned at first but after a few minutes realised were the part was. He came back with a printed sheet and said Skoda only do the whole gear change (lever, mechanism in car and cables) as an assembly and costing in the region of £350.

i have looked at fleabay and as you say I could be buying similar or even worse. I have managed to get new cable ends and adjusted the system. However I am now struggling to select 6th gear so may have more fettling to do.

It is a shame someone doesn’t do a overhaul kit but I suppose there isn’t much demand.

Sounds like you are almost there!  If you have part number or car detail, model, year, engine I could check but say if £350 at a skoda dealer I doubt LLLP would be less than £300 at best so still a big outlay. Maybe carry on with your adjustment and refurb work.

Yeah I think tweeking is going to be cheaper, probably worth half the vehicle’s value at the moment so financially not really worth it.

Thank you for your quick reply and offer.
