Does anyone know why my iV is not heating when I’m plugged in and waiting in my car UNLESS I use the app to turn the air con on?

Is this not related to the lockout that prevents you starting the drive system when plugged in?

Not sure but it only blows cold even if the car is not started unless I use the app then it blows whatever temperature I want as long as it’s from the app 

Why are you sitting in it while plugged in? Charging?

 

I don't think I have ever done this except for when using OBDeleven. Given the relatively short distance you can cover on a charge I only ever charge at home.

some times I like to wait in my car whilst the missus goes shopping and I want to be warm but without losing much of my distance so charging and waiting and being warm is something I desire while I am waiting

Have you tried using the REST function?

 

Theory of operation is explained below. I tried it in my old GTE and it was next to useless, your mileage may vary though!
