Hi all

I am having problems with my blower and in need of help!

 

My car is a 2006 Fabia 1.9 tdi elegance. 

 

Initially my blower would only work on setting 4. I found out that this is most likely the resistor but before I fitted a new one the blower stopped working completely. 
I fitted a new resistor but this did not fix it. I tested for voltage at the blower motor plug and got 12V+ with switch in positions 1,2,3,4. I bought a new blower motor and fitted but it still does not work.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you test whether the ground connection is OK?

I have tested resistance between the brown cable on the blower motor plug and the earth strap from the battery and got zero ohms. 
is that the correct way of testing?

Turned out the new blower motor was faulty. 
The terminals were too deep and the connector was not making contact with them. 
Fitted a new one and now have a warm car again.
