No heat or AC

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Roomster not a Fabia but I believe they both use exactly the same heating/AC system so trying for any answers on here as no response on the Roomster forum

my 2006 Roomster doesn’t seem to have any heat or cold ac, the ac light is on but the blower just blows the same temperature whatever hot or cold setting you choose

Just wondering where to start to find the fault, could it be the hot to cold knob ? Do I need to buy a scan tool to scan codes and if so what type ?

any advice much appreciated before I start looking

Big delay responding here because the car is in Portugal so I only get over occasionally.

Four wasps nests in the door pillars to get past but I don't think thats causing my heater/a/c problem, stung four times getting them out !

I just scanned the codes with a cheap vw/skoda obd scanner and got the following codes

Engine 16687, 16955

SRS 00532

ABS 01314

A/T shows 1 code there but linking error when scanned so cant see the code number

None of these seem to refer to the hvac module so do I need to scan this another way ?

cheers

I'm no expert on this but son's Fabia had no AC cooling even after recharging. Turned out to be the front mounted radiator fan which has to turn to enable the AC to function. But his heater did work so maybe not your problem.

Thanks all advice appreciated I will check that

To find any HVAC fault codes, first you will need to use a VW Group compliant scan tool - ie a scan tool that can talk to all the controllers including the HVAC controller.

I was advised that the vcds lite software on my laptop and an ftdi cable would do the job so going to try that

Fair enough - but that was a long time ago, I thought that you would have been back over and used it by now.
