Claybank Motors

Featured Replies

Fraid Ive got to give Claybank a thumbs following my servicing experience, although the buying experience was fairly good. Was a bit dubious given my treatment over a warranty job but gave them the benefit of doubt, car was serviced last week, was surprised at how quiet the service bays were and at the lack of second hand stock, courtesy car was a new Nissan Micra,- are they losing the Skoda franchise??? When I returned home with the car and checked it the service indicator hadnt been reset and oil had been spilled over the undertray when the filter was changed, with no attempt at cleaning it up, when I went back to the dealership and told them about the service indicator the service guy replied with a 'TUT', no apology, and asked for my keys. Was then just given the keys back and told the car was at the side!!! Wot happened to customer service!!!! :cussing:

Ah well, looks like I

PS, How do you move a post?

As soon as the warranty is up then I'll be servicing at AA instead.

If you fancied the trip down to Stockport, I know Wayne Connolly Motors maintain Metro Taxis' Octavias, so they probably know what they're doing and they were very cheap when I had my Astra serviced there...

Rob.

Cheers for the info Rob, will probably stick to someone more local though as I'm only 10 mins from Bolton.

Have you tried Parkside Garage in Bolton, a friend of mines father swears by them. Not tried them myself even though Iam in Bolton.

Mark, my mate took his RS their about 12 months ago to have the suspension checked out. Although the technician was good, he said the service guy was really unfriendly and wouldn't tell him the truth (power steering was altered). When mentioned the service guy suggested my car was non-standard! What crap

After driving the car before and after, I concluded they had corrected the steering, which incidentally has now gone over corrective again and handling at speed is awful as a consequence.

This incident does not inspire me to take my car there, but I am willing to bury a hatchet and give them a chance. I can only assume they were

They were still a franchised dealer 4-5 weeks when we were looking for a Fabia.

Didn't buy one from them as we got a better deal from Horners at Bury, ended up with a Silverline for less that the price of a 1.2 6v Classsic.

As for Parkside, like i said i haven't used them but for the last 20 odd years the garage has been there as i grew up around that area of Bolton.

Looks now a little dated, so the hatchet may be falling as they seen to have spent an amount of money on setting up a new showroom to sell Daihatsu's only 400 yds away.

Only time will tell.

As for Horners at Bury, heard that they are modification friendly from Tavia 4x4 if this is of any use.

Good luck..

Mark

will do some testing about this, it should be transparant, although a deletion of cookies for briskoda might be needed. :coder: :drive: :boozer:

Stubax, you can also just follow the links at the top of this page... 'Reviews' is what you will need to follow.

Am in the process of buying a new Skoda from Claybank and I have got to say that the sales service has been diabolical. I have had a number of problem which warranted getting Skoda UK involved. They just dont seem to give a damn about their customers. Once im in possession of my new car I will never deal with the second rate outfit again.

New dealer in stockport is Lookers ( next to and part of the Renault dealer) took my VRS DSG in for its first service, Quoted £184 by Claybank, £114 by lookers and the service, staff, showroom was absolutely top notch....I would highly recommend them based upon my experience  they even offered to wash and vac it....declined the wash though .....but OCD about the washing thing!
