First time Skoda

Featured Replies

Hello all! Took delivery of my first Skoda (Fabia vrs) on Thursday and am already experiencing the mix of elation and consternation that seems to go with the territory of Fabia vrs ownership. Had a MGZR 120 before and in terms of build quality and performance the vrs is in a different class. However, I did catch the tail end of Top Gear last night and am dismayed to find that I have invested in a seriously uncool car! In addition I am experiencing the judder or lag that some other correspondents have referred to and am wondering whether this is a major issue or whether it can be overcome either through a change in driving style or by a 'fix'. Other than that, I have to say that the smile has hardly been off my face since last Thursday. On a run to Sheffield and back both the performance and the fuel economy were fantastic and I now find myself looking for errands to do just to get into the car. Would love to hear from other owners re. any tips, hints or advice that might enhance my driving experience.
