2016 Octavia 3 - replace media unit

Hi, does anyone know if it’s possible to replace the glovebox unit in the 2016 model with the previous CD unit from a 2014 model?

I believe Skoda stopped fitting the CD units from around 2015 onwards. But could I buy a used unit from eBay and get it installed as a replacement?

Or is there more to it than that? Maybe some other complications with the rest of the media unit I’m not aware of?

Anyone looked into this or done it themselves?

Hi @pab567I don’t have the car yet. It’s one I’m considering buying. I could get a pre 2016 model with a CD player but there aren’t any around at the moment in good colours with good specs and low mileage.

It was more of a general question. Cheers.

Everything is possible but not everything makes sense... knowing VIN I can see what was factory installed and present options available.

One of the scourges of Greek roads are abandoned motorcycles. Hi Everyone, I have been investigating how I can replace the decorative trim pieces on the console of the O4 (see attached picture (version I would like). The easy part has been figuring out the general part numbers, however I get stuck on the specifics. This might be just a coincidence. But I have just had a new windscreen fitted following a rock being thrown up by a lorry's wheels hitting it, which left a small chip, which after a few days became a long crack and was growing. The screen was replaced last week, and yesterday I discovered the seat was not responding to the controls. I cannot see any fuse listed in the owner's manual which states it supplies power to the seats. The driver's seat is working as usual, which made me think it must b

Hi all, I noticed a few forums posted over a decade ago, but unfortunately didn't seem to relate. I've got an issue where the cd auto changer had a fault. I pressed the eject button which spat the magazine out. I checked over the cds and everything seemed fine. After reseating the mag, the stereo no longer recognises the magazine, and says "no magazine". Since then I've tried to eject the mag, but had no luck. Has anyone had any issues with this? I removed the autochanger in the idea of fitt

Octy 2 1.4TSI ESTATE CAXA Quite uncertain where to enter this question. The keyfob#1 has started to cause serious problems with the car alarm system. So far keyfob#2 is working with no problem. Car alarm starting randomly and only disconnecting the battery helped. Yesterday the alarm kept sounding/flashing even when the engine was running - undrivable. Is there a home cure whereby I can remap/reset the key fob? My very helpful auto sparks is unable to help
