Karoq issues with noise anti roll bars and suspension top joints

Featured Replies

I am contemplating purchasing a 68 or 19 plate Karoq and have been informed that there are issues with the above especially when turning to the left. Dealer assures me that he has never heard of the issue since the Karoq came on the market.

Can anyone give me an update or do the latest Karoq's no longer have this issue?

Thank you in anticipation

Welcome.

Who were you asking, a salesperson or the Master Mechanic from the dealership?

They might have hearing issues, or poor memory.

If individuals cars had issues then hopefully sorted by now.

If the car you are looking at is OK now at a couple of years that is all that matters really.

You want some manufacturers warranty left or a good warranty with the car then a good long road test with you driving the car without a salesperson with you.

?

What combination of engine gearbox are you looking at?

Check what the Service History of stuff done is and any warranty history if they are saying a FMDSH.

Full servicing is not enough if it is not to The manufacturers Recommendations, guidelines even schedule.

If coming up to 3 years be aware of what is due at 3 years in the way of servicing.

Sales people might not read car forums.

Main Stealer standard response #1 ;)

Our Karoq is a 2018 model, no issues

Feb 16 Ateca + Nov. 2019 Karoq, no issues whatsoever regarding this.

Use the search function on this forum ( which is absolutley biased towards people who complain ) and see how many have reported the issue. Might happen to the odd car, just like it would with any manufacturer, but I'm certainly not aware of it being an underlying problem on the Karoq.  The Karoq is basically a rebadged Seat Ateca  and having also owned one of those, I'm not aware of any problems there either. Where was the source of your information?

My 2019 Karoq squeaks and pops a bit over road humps and such like (especially in cold weather and for only about the first minute or two). It is the bushes for sure but I took it in and the dealer (mechanics) reported "no fault". I left it at that because it's not that frequent and now that the car is over 3 years old I accept that, at some point, the bushes will need "doing".   Had the same thing on my 2009 Tiguan so knew what to expect. I got the Tiguan's bushes done (few hundred pounds) at an indie at about year 7 I seem to recall.

In my opinion, it is a well well known "characteristic" of this car and its predecessor.

Thank you to all who replied regarding this issue. The jury is still out.
