Lowering Springs vs Coilovers for an Octavia VRS MK2

Featured Replies

Hi all, I was considering lowering my Octavia VRS and was wondering what the preferred approach is, lowering springs or a coilover set. I’m working with a pretty tight budget, I’ve seen “Stanced” coilovers for £280 and some “Eibach” springs for £170. Any help is much appreciated!

when i was looking at suspension for mine i came across the stanced but from the reviews most were saying it's a hard ride and failed shocks,

in the end went with trw shocks and eibach springs cost was around 270 from autodoc (ended up selling to mate)

however the ride quality is superb, nice and softish around town and fantastic on the twistys, car feels level and firm around coners

Was it harder or harsher compared to original VRS suspension?

Did it lower the car by much?

it's about the same but feels more premium if that make sense, the shocks were standard replacements and eibach -20mm springs, yes it lowered but only minor,

Do you happen to have the part number for the shock absorbers? There’s 2 different options on Autodoc that both “fit my car”

these are what i ordered but obviously other brands are available,

front JGM1030T

rear JGT448T

eibach -20 springs

add what ever you want in basket then wait a couple of days, you'll get a whopping 41% off,

it cost me £260ish for shocks and the springs, just the springs are around £200 from uk for some reason,

Thanks so much, saved me a headache accidentally ordering the wrong one!
