Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

When turning on car I get a message saying “The ParkPilot is currently not available” and on selecting reverse I get a loud audible tone with no visible screen of my rear parking sensors.  I have connected an OBDeleven which shows a fault stating “Left rear park assist sensors, Open circuit/short circuit to ground”. Fault code:  B107614.

Can anyone confirm this would suggest a faulty rear (outer) passenger side sensor or does this error suggest it could be either the outer or inner sensor being faulty (or both) as I don’t know if OBDeleven diagnoses an exact location.

If so, are all of the four sensors the same across the rear and could anyone give me the oem part number\s for replacement sensors or recommend an alternative.  Car is a Skoda Superb III 2016 1.4TSI 150hp.

Many thanks.

I did make this before to show how to read wiring diagrams, but it was for rear parking sensors.

If your tool can actually bring up live values, you can confirm by looking at live data, and have someone/you walk around the car, you should also be able to feel the sensor pulsing under your finger.

It was a rotten loom cable, so please don't waste money buying a sensor before you inspect the loom, mine was green where the wires split off down to the sensor.

Many thanks varooom for your help.  Looks like cable inspection is my first port of call.

Feel around each sensor for the pulsing, then you know where to inspect.

Thats a whole lot of work.

The best thing you can do is disconnect a sensor and see if you get a new fault code. Then that means its not that one.

Next to check the wiring, swap 2 sensors over, if the fault follows one of the sensors you know the sensor is the fault.

Found out it is the rear kerbside sensor that is faulty.  Are all the sensors the same at the back and can anyone advise what the part number is for a replacement sensor?

Best send along your VIN for lookup to check.

Tentatively, 5Q0 919 275 B

5Q0919275C if you are talking about the back 4 sensors mounted in the black plastic piece.

If you have self park and the additional side sensors the part number for the two side sensors is 5Q0919275B which come unpainted and are body colour matched.

Many thanks ApertureS, much appreciated.  Yes it is one of the sensors on the black rear strip on the bumper, so 5Q0919275C.

Great when members can help others👍🏻

Can anyone tell me how to physically get at the rear sensors on my superb estate 2020 model.  One has dropped inside the bumper and I need to glue it back in?  Thanks, Chris

the easiest in my opinion and the official method is to remove the rear bumper, not too hard to do either

Many thanks.  can you recommend a suitable video please?

I think ApertureS answered your question in response to your original post.

If you have small ramps or any mean to raise rear wheels by 4-5", you can lay under the rear bumper and you can access to the sensors. If it's one on the opposite side of the exhaust outlet, you first need to unscrew a kind of small undertray.

Of course, if you have thick hands or Schwarzenegger's arms, the official method is highly recommended... 😁

Thanks for the 'heads-up' on how to get to the sensor.  I have ramps and long, skinny arms, so I'll give it a go.  Many thanks, Chris

The rear parking sensors r located on the lower diffuser section.

U can easily remove this bit alone without removing the entire rear bumper.

It's got 4x torx screws underneath, and then clips across the top, and either end.

Thank you so much!  I wasn't looking forward to trying to get the main section off.  I'll have a go at the job with a lot more confidence.  Thanks again. Chris
