Cobra exhaust for mk2 vrs

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a cobra exhaust and I was just wondering if anyone else has fitted one? I can't see any information about how it joins to the car. I know you need to cut the factory pipe but does it come with a step ip from 55mm to 63? Thanks in advance

For anyone wondering, the exhaust comes with a 55 to 63.5mm joiner.

Doesn't look like a performance solution to me, looks more like a convenient kludge to allow the use of cheaper 2 1/2" tubing, more show than go I suspect.

I mean, it's a 1.4, anything more than 2.5in is more than likely a waste of metal IMO. The performance aspect (if any) would come from having a straight through back box instead of the factory which loops back on itself and contains several baffled Chambers. I'm not looking to push 1000hp, just want a bit of noise going down the road 😄

The standard 2 1/4" system is good to about 220 BHP so if you want more noise, just change the back box for a straight through type, no need to touch the rest of the system.
