Android Auto not working

Hi! 

Very confused as tonight my android Auto stopped working while car was parked up for just over 2 hours. 

The "app" button on the screen is unresponsive, going through the icons clicking on android auto does nothing either. I usually don't have to click either, my phone is just there on start up. Turning off both my car & phone fully & back on did nothing. 

I just passed my test & started driving the car, & this has happened once before, but restarting my car fixed it. 

Any ideas?

If using a usb cable try disconnecting and reconnecting the cable. Then try another good quality cable. It could also be a faulty usb socket.

There is a new version of Android Auto available, might as well do a fresh upload.

Press and hold on/off and system reboots. Makes a loud bang, always does it.

Android auto is now wireless so cable not needed.

Not sure, thought it was but perhaps not.

Not only does the car need to be compatible, but the phone needs to be as well. Check on the internet to see if your phone supports wireless.
