Rear wiper question.

Featured Replies

I have a question for mk iv Octavia owners.

I’ve had my 2021 Octavia for 1 year now and just had it serviced.  Now when I have my front wipers on, or on intermittent, the rear wiper also comes on intermittently.

I don’t recall this happening before the car was serviced and I can’t see a way to disable this function.  Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Steve

On the Kodiaq you have to un-tick the rear wipe when reverse selected option to stop the annoying rear wiper operating intermittently on a mostly dry rear window.

It’s easy enough to flick the rear wiper as and when required.

Not sure if Octavia is the same, but worth a look.

Many thanks for your reply Kenny.

I did see that in the menu, but it didn’t follow (my) logic that this is how it is controlled.

I’ll give that a shot & post how I get on.

All the best,

Steve

Yep, that’s the setting in the Octavia too - which drifts my logic as well, especially as having an auto wipe when selecting reverse is actually quite useful on a wet night.

Cheers Steve.
Handy when you need it for sure, but when the rain has just come on and the road is still dry, that’s a lot of scraping noise on the back screen.

Thanks guys. Unticking the rear wipe when engaging reverse gear did the trick 👍
