Golf R32

Featured Replies

Had a play with one of these last night - AMD sticker on the back and a professional looking body kit - none of your Ripspeed nonsense here

They're bloody fast  I didn't stand a chance :(

Anybody had a go in one of these? Any good?

Have driven the standard R32, fantastic car, but a lot of money brand new.

Would I have one...Yes, Yes.Yes.

Was it a Mk4 Golf or a Mk5 Golf version?

Have test driven a both versions and also a couple with AMD tuning and mods.

They sound fantastic, and drive really well.

The new one is obviously more luxurious but still feels alive, but not quite as alive as the Mk4 version.

Only my opinion though.

The fastest one i drove had a supercharger conversion and was kicking out close to 380BHP and that was FAST.

Felt very much like a 911 996 TT once the turbo's had spooled up.

And all for £19K secondhand.

I would have one as they are a very good alrounder and you the sound of the V6 is lovely, especially through a Full Miltek system.

I reckon it was a MKIV but don't take my word for it - it was fairly heavily bodykitted.

Well they come with a completely different bumpers etc to a standard Golf GTI.

Do you remember what year the registration was saying?

Hmmmmm could of been the supercharged R32 I saw in the AMD workshop.... If that's the case NO Fabia vRS could touch one, hell no Fabia vRS could touch a standard one tbh...

hell no Fabia vRS could touch a standard one tbh...

 Burn the heretic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you realise what you're saying?

Next thing you know, you'll be saying that a Fabia vRS isn't cool.... Where will it end?

I've been a passenger in a stage 2 R32 with Miltek... boy it sounded sweeeeet. The launches are awesome. But once moving, an Octavia 2 stage 2 tuned can keep up... ;)

my mates got a R32, its standard and still quick and sounds mint! but my uno turbo is definatly quicker!

very very nice cars, i want one!

I know the R32 has different bumpers - this was definetly aftermarket. It was on a private plate (S prefix) and was a lightish blue/grey in colour.

Looked good actually, and I'm not a big fan of modified cars as a rule.

Quicker than a furby - nah, I'd have had him in the mid-range

Love the Mk4 R32 and seriously considering one as a replacement for the Octy...... :)

At least we're getting back to reality now ;)

When I was in at Star Performance a couple of months ago a bloke was in enquiring about a supercharger for his Mk V R32 - bloody hell that must be seriously quick.

MKV is the same engine as the MK1V

With an extra 20bhp, I believe.

How much does a R32 weigh? Its just I would imagine in a straight line, I'd match one with a rolling start - say 30mph+ in 3rd? They're an awesome car right out the box though. Sound damn wonderful on song. That lump is like a jukebox. :D

they are not uber powerful, 240bhp i believe so a remapped octavia or the mongrel should be able to keep up with a standard one :)

now spend what you've spent on an R32 J and see what happens ;)

240 as standard? eeek! Didn't realise it was that much.... Laters.

there we go, looks quite good :)

golf R32 MK4

my boss has a mk4 silver 5dr R32 very fast apparantly never had a run in it but he over took me the other day up the hill out of Fochabers on the A96.....

I remember being overtaken by a R32, cruised up behind me whilst I was doing 80, pulled over, and then shot past and vanished into the distance...

From personal experience (Saab 93 Turbo Auto with 202hp at the wheels) a remapped petrol turbo will be about neck and neck with a stock R32...

There wasn't much in it once we got moving, if anything I was pulling on him just a little. I probably had an advantage at the launch due to the autobox, also I don't think the R32 was expecting me to take him on.

very much doubt you'd have an advantage at launch as they are 4WD :)

rev to 5k or 6k and dump the clutch ;)

Must have just been the element of surprise then. You don't expect a suit in a Saab to race you!

I saw/heard a white one today, giving it rice.

Very, very nice indeed.....
